About the Role

Balloo Hire is looking for an ambitious, driven, and people-focused Internal Sales Manager to lead and develop our Internal Sales Executive team. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced and growing hire business, offering the opportunity to make a real impact on team performance, customer experience, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to sales support, customer relationship management, and commercial performance. You will play a vital role in driving sales growth, supporting team development, improving internal processes, and ensuring high standards across all hire administration and reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the Internal Sales Executive team to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Conduct regular monthly and quarterly 1-2-1 meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions to support personal development and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
  • Identify & implement training and development requirements to strengthen product knowledge, systems usage, and sales capability.

Sales & Customer Management

  • Support the team in managing inbound sales enquiries and converting opportunities into hire orders.
  • Assist with customer account management, helping to build and maintain strong long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Work collaboratively with external sales teams and operational departments to maximise revenue opportunities and deliver excellent service levels.
  • Step in to assist with quotations, order processing, and customer queries during periods of high demand.

Operational & Compliance Oversight

  • Complete mandatory weekly and monthly audits and reporting checks, including:
    • Items on hire and off hire
    • Invoice and documentation accuracy
    • Contract reviews and closure processes
    • Outstanding purchase orders (POs)
  • Ensure all internal systems, hire records, and administrative processes are maintained accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor KPIs and departmental performance, producing reports and insights for senior management.
  • Continuously review processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and commercial performance.

Collaboration & Business Growth

  • Work closely with management to support wider business objectives and sales strategies.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives that help drive business growth and operational improvement.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of Balloo Hire across all customer interactions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a sales management, internal sales, or hire desk leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with strong administrative and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
